PROJECT NAME:

Reddington Levee Setback

LOCATION:
Auburn, WA

OWNER:
King County

DESCRIPTION:

The Reddington Levee Setback project is part of a large flood management strategy for the lower Green River. The project replaced nearly a mile of sub-standard levee with a new levee, creating a wider riparian corridor, improving salmon habitat, and leaving valuable properties better protected from flooding and scour. Work includes: over 150,000 Cubic Yards of Excavation, Import and Placement of nearly 50,000 Tons of Riprap and over 450 Large Boulders, over 3,000 Linear Feet of Storm Pipe, and Placement of over 150 Logs and Construction of 30 Engineered Log Jams – used to protect banks from scour and mimic natural habitat.
